Marques de Vivanco Foundation

Foundation activities

The Foundation has its headquarters in Madrid on the street Samaria No. 8 and began its activity in early 2005. There, substantial funds for books and art have been placed, so that it has a significant asset that will increase in the near future with additional input that allows them to achieve their goals.

In this second stage the Foundation has been conducting its activities in different areas:

  • Firstly it continues with the preparation of its headquarters in terms of their furnishings, installation of the collections and archives. It is under restoration and documentation as a first step, prior to initiating the study and eventual digitization.
  • With this we can say that the given Heritage to the Foundation is very important since it includes pieces of great value and high times in paintings, Meissen porcelain, Cordoba silver and crystal from the XVII and XVIII century, as well as tapestries, sculptures, carpets from the "Real Fábrica" (Royal Factory) and other precious objects. The archive of the foundation has more than 5000 documents starting from the year 1100 and contains royal letters, papal bulls, and books of inestimable historical value.
  • In another line of action of the "Centro Especial de Empleo" (Special Employment Center), it is consolidating with several business agreements and the gradual incorporation of disabled staff.
  • In Christmas we collaborate with Caritas and other ONGs
  • In the cultural field, the Foundation promotes the restoration and consolidation of the Arceo Church in Vivanco de Mena, in collaboration with the City Council and other private institutions and the Board of Castilla-Leon, as it has promised. Other important projects that will shape and develop soon are being studied.
  • To secure funding for the Foundation, documentation is provided each year in order to receive subsidizing from public and private entities. Agreements are also signed with various nonprofit organizations to be given more social content to the Foundation.
